Behind offensive fireworks from T.K. Wilkerson and a ferocious defense, Skiatook (8-1, #1 in District 5A-4) kept the seven-game win streak alive when the Pryor Tigers visited for senior night. (2-4 in District 5A-4). The Bulldogs took care of business early and finished Friday night as District Champions. T.K. Wilkerson ran for 3 first half touchdowns as Skiatook’s offensive line created giant holes in the Pryor defense. Couple that with a Bulldogs defense that only allowed 7 points to a Pryor offense averaging 31 points per game on the season, and you have a recipe for success. The first score of the night came from a T.K. Wilkerson 30-yard scamper along the right side of the offensive line early in the first quarter. The Bulldog defense, led by senior Chandler Perigo, forced 3 punts in the first quarter and set Skiatook up with solid field position throughout the night. Wilkerson shook off an early first quarter fumble by bursting through the defense for a 53-yard TD. Skiatook had a 14-0 lead as the first quarter came to a close. In the second quarter, Korey Miller completed a nice pass to Colton Standridge to get the Bulldogs to the 4-yard line, and Wilkerson ran into the end zone for his third score of the night with 2:47 left in the first half. Pryor was able to put a successful drive together before the half ended, completing some nice passes and marching down the field. The Tigers connected on a fade route into the right corner of the end zone to close the half. Skiatook’s lead stood at 21-7 entering halftime. McLaughlin and Wilkerson were at it again in the third quarter as they took turns rumbling down the field. A McLaughlin carry set the Bulldog’s up inside the Tiger 5-yard line. Miller took the next play to the end zone as he found some running room on the outside to put the Bulldogs up 28-7 with 5:59 left in the third. The Bulldogs weren’t done yet, as Jaxson Dohn forced a Pryor fumble to set the Bulldogs up at midfield. Jayden Garner took the next snap 50 yards for a spectacular touchdown run at the 4:19 mark in the third that would eventually be the final score of the game. From there, the Bulldogs’ defense reigned supreme. Nick Rutledge had an interception in the third quarter, and Justin Demauro sacked the Pryor quarterback for a crucial stop to force a Tiger punt. Skiatook’s Cale Glover was able to break free for a couple solid runs in the 4th, but the Bulldogs seemed content with their 28-point lead. Skiatook ended the game in victory formation, as Miller took a knee to wind out the clock with a final score of 35-7. Congratulations Bulldogs on becoming 2017 District 5A Champions!
