When it came to the 'ol hit parade, Bartlesville High School's varsity softball team boasted more star power than the Skiatook Lady Bulldogs.

But, the only number that ultimately counts is runs — and Skiatook won that battle, and the game.

The Lady Bulldogs edged Bartlesville, 4-2, during a Saturday morning showdown at the Lady Bruin diamond.

Led by Sydney Earley with two doubles, and Jaycee Hampton and Kiersten Brown with two singles each, Bartlesville out hit Skiatook, 10 to seven.

Hampton drove in both Lady Bruins — one each scored by Abbey Ely and Earley.

But, Bartlesville left seven runners stranded.

Kiara DeCrane, Ely, Maggie Largess and Kimalee Lawrence added one single each to the Lady Bruin offensive recipe.

Ely also turned in a masterful pitching performance in one of her final — if not last — appearances in the homefield circle.

Ely scattered seven hits, allowed only two earned runs, didn't issue a walk and whiffed eight batters.

Bartlesville (12-19) continued to be stuck at the 12-win mark.

The Lady Bruins are slated to play host next Thursday — in the regular season finale — to Sand Springs.

The Class 6A regionals are slated to begin on Oct. 4.

Bartlesville is just one win shy of surpassing last year's win total.
